In a recent interview for CRN, Steve Ballmer has shared a bit more information about Microsoft’s (rather ambitious) plans to compete with Apple. The software giant’s CEO has stated, that Microsoft is not going to leave any niche, in which Apple are trying to break through, uncovered. According to Ballmer, Microsoft’s products have a lot of advantages over Apple’s offering, such as better productivity and a better server infrastructure for business users.

Steve has also said, that despite the company’s current focus on tablets and the tablet market in general, there is a good chance for a Microsoft smartphone to appear in the recent future – after all, as Ballmer said, the software giant has some powerful smartphone manufacturers for partners – Nokia and HTC being the obvious choice for such a project.
