It seems this edition of the Mobile World Congress is going to be remembered for the number of Japanese companies, making a return on the European smartphone market. Not only has Fujitsu announced their return, but Panasonic are coming back as well with their new smartphone, called the Eluga.

The device has a 4.3″ qHD display and NFC capabilities, runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is water- and dust-resistant. There’s also a little bonud feature – you can use it as a remote for your Panasonic TV. Not bad for something weighing just over 100 grams. So far those are the only known specifications of the Eluga, which was just revealed at the Panasonic Convention 2012, but more details are expected to be uploaded on Panasonic’s website very soon. The device is going to hit the European market this March. B. A.
