Intel is going to continue supporting MeeGo without Nokia

Recently, Nokia confirmed that it’s not going to roll out any other MeeGo devices and is generally abandoning the OS. Intel, however isn’t going to give up that easy – they are going to keep on working on the platform on their own, and they have established a working plan until the second half of 2012. This means we can expect to see netbooks and tablets running MeeGo and not only that but as of version 1.3 it will also support TVs, multimedia systems some other devices. MeeGo 1.3 is expected to come in Q4 this year and 1.4 Q2 next year. Even though market specialists are pessimistic, Intel thinks that MeeGo can indeed join the big players – iOS and Android.
