Windows Phone 7 launches in Thailand, immediately sells out

Microsoft is back to re-claim its throne at the top of the smartphone pecking order with the launch of the Windows Phone 7 HD7 phone that was launched, and immediately sold out, in conjunction with HTC and Dtac.

Pakorn Pannachet, Senior Vice-President at Dtac, announced the pricing and special offers. The HD7 will be available for 22,900 baht including VAT with a 10 month zero interest-free offer for many credit card holders. The standard smart phone package is now a 799 baht month which includes 3GB of data, effectively unlimited for the majority of users, and 200 minutes of calls. Those buying the HD7 will receive a discount on this package to the tune of 4,000 baht – a 500 baht a month discount will be applied to the bill for the first eight months.
