The US Army With Their Own App Store

A couple of years ago the US Army announced, that they’re going to release a specialized mobile market, in which soldiers can find applications, which they may find useful. The project has already reached the point, at which the first prototype of the market is released – it’s called Army Software Marketplace and is web-based. In the market, the US soldiers will be able to find 12 training applications, which have been approved for use in the military.

So far, the market only features applications for iOS, but support for Android applications is expected to be added very soon. Of course, the US Army is going to increase the content of the market drastically by allowing third-party organisations and developers to send in their titles as well. B. A.
