The ASUS Transformer Prime is the first of a new generation of tablets – both more powerful and more efficient, thanks to the Tegra 3 processor it uses and that’s something we’ve known for a long time. Happily, ASUS have finally decided to share it’s other technical specifications as well. The tablet will have a 1280×800 10.1″ Super IPS+ display with great viewing angles and covered by a oleo- and hydrophobic Gorilla glass. It will also have 1GB of RAM and 32GB – 64GB of inbuilt memory, depending on the version. It will also feature two cameras – a 1.3MP front-facing one and an 8MP one on the back, which will be able to record 1080p HD video.

The device will have 12 hours of battery life, which will be extended to 18 with the keyboard dock, which will also add a USB 2.0 port and SD card slot. In the beginning, the Prime will be running Android 3.2, but it will receive an upgrade to 4.0 soon. Prices are going to be $499 for the 32GB version and $599 for the 64GB one. The dock will cost you an extra $150. B. A.
