Nokia using ST-Ericsson processors in their future WP devices
|
Earlier this year ST-Ericsson mentioned, they were hoping to provide the processors for Nokia’s Windows Phone devices and even though their first ones are going to feature Qualcomm ones, things are about to change. This is completely official, ST-Ericsson have announced Nokia has chosen the NovaThor platform for their future models. So far it’s unknown, whether ST-Ericsson will be the only SoC provider for the Finns, but it’s very likely that they use Qualcomm’s ones as well. Even if Nokia decide to rely on ST-Ericsson’s NovaThor series processors, they will have to wait for the next version of Windows Phone, which will finally be optimized for dual-core devices. B. A.
