RIM have announced, that we should be expecting the debut of BlackBerry OS 2.0 at CES 2012 and end-users are going to receive it as soon as February. With this update, the company is going to introduce their own e-mail application and a unified inbox, which works with more than one account. Users are also going to receive a better text editor for sending messages along with the possibility to choose to automatically reply. Another improvement inĀ BlackBerry OS 2.0 is going to be the contacts app – now it’s going to integrate information from multiple sources (social networks etc.) just like in webOS.

RIM have also improved the tablet’s integration with BlackBerry smartphones. For instance, users are going to be able to use their phone’s keyboard to type on the tablet. The tablet, on the other hand, is going to have access to the data on the phone and a couple of programs, such as Documents To Go and Print To Go are going to make users’ lives even easier. Whether or these changes are going to enough to make the tablet more popular, we have yet to see. B. A.
