A smaller Apple tablet could harm the iPad’s sales
|
With the recent announcement of the Nexus 7 – Google’s own 7″ tablet, a lot of people are finally expecting the rumors about Apple releasing a smaller iPad to turn out to be true. And this is going to happen, at least according to Bloomberg, who have confirmed this information and are expecting the American company to release another tablet of their own with a screen diagonal of 7″ to 8″ and with a price similar to that of the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire – about $200, which would really make the competition in this price range fierce. Still though, some companies have analyzed this scenario and according to them, such a move would decrease the sales of Apple’s original iPad by up to 25%, though the overall popularity of Apple (on the tablet market at least) is going to remain high. Expectations for the device sales are 10 million for the first quarter after its release (by the end of 2012) and 35 million devices sold in 2013. B. A.
