Users want cheaper tablets

Apple may be the leader in the tablet market with their iPads, but according to a research by Retrevo, people would like to have cheaper alternatives. Out of the thousand people they asked more than half said they would buy a tablet that has the specifications of the iPad 2, but costs less than $300. And if we go down to $250 80% of them would buy it. It seems that people are hoping Amazon can give them this device, as 55% say they would buy a cheap tablet if it’s made by Amazon. This percent is only 38 for Samsung and Dell and 31 for Motorola and HP. About half the users think that price is the most important thing about a tablet, while only 28% want an HD screen and just one fifth of them want better text-input features, such as hardware keyboards.
