The beginning was with Apple iPad, it gave the first generation of tablets – April 2010. The company unveiled a brand new device with 9.7 inch IPS screen, multitouch, 1 GHz Apple A4 processor , 256 MB DDR RAM 535 and PowerVR SGX GPU graphics accelerator.
Then the “pitch” is displayed and the second “player” in the face of Koreans with Samsung Galaxy Tab – 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 512 MB RAM, 7 inch LCD with resolution of 1024×600, multitouch display, PowerVR SGX 540 graphics accelerator, 2 cameras – 3mpx rear and 1.3mpx front.
Of course all this happened about a year ago and now the market situation stands quite differently. Apple naturally stay on top with iPad and iPad 2, but soon may be shooked by Android Honeycomb 3.0, which Google created specifically designed for tablets.
