720p HD Video Recording Mod for Xperia Mini, Mini Pro and Active
If you still have an old 2011 Sony Ericsson smartphone like Xperia Mini, Xperia Mini Pro or Xperia Active – don’t throw it away, you can now use it as an HD camcoder!
That’s right, there’s a mod that allows you to record video with 720p HD resolution @ 30fps! Thanks to the XDA-Developers user Miniuser123, the 5MP camera in the both models is now capable to do it, all you need is to flash CyanogenMod 10 ROM on your device.
The camera mod itself is just a simple flashable .zip file, which is installed after flashing your ROM and kernel.
How-to install it:
- Flash kernel (mini_naa720p.img or minipro_naa720p.img or lww_naa720p.img or active_naa720p.img)
- Flash the .zip file in CWM (cm10_enable720p.zip)
Note: the smoothest results come in the camera app found in Super Jelly Bean 8.0, so find it if you can.
