After having gone through the majority of Adonit’s stylus line, we’re going to introduce you to an alternative way of information input, which the company has to offer – the Adonit Writer, a keyboard case designed especially for the iPad 2. Of course, just like any other of the company’s products, this is also a high-end accessory and you can definitely feel that, when you try it out even for a little bit. The keyboard itself is made out of aluminum and its covered by a tough, yet slim (and frankly beautiful) case, which also serves to protect your tablet. The scissor action keys, on the other hand, make sure your typing experience is nothing less than great.
There are however a number of other features, which really set the Writer 2 Plus from its competition. One of them is the option to remove the keyboard from the case itself and type from wherever (and whatever position) you want. There is also a clever system, which relies on magnets, to allow you to slide the keyboard in any angle you feel most comfortable typing – Adonit is waiting on a patent for this system.
The case is also designed in such a way, as to make sure, that you are going to be able to take your iPad out of it as fast as possible, with the “quick eject” making sure of that. Another thing, which a lot of users will be happy about is, that the Writer 2’s battery is now rechargeable – letting you plug it in any USB outlet at your convenience, though you probably won’t have to very often – it can last for more than 2 weeks on a single charge with normal usage – quite impressive.
