The best Android tablet for under $200?

1. What do you want the tablet for?
If you want to be running the latest and greatest releases, playing games etc etc then you’ll have to cough up a lot more than $200. If you want something to browse the web and play web videos etc, then you may well be able to get away with something around the $200 mark.

2. Work out what features you must have and what features would be nice and what you can live without.
What version of Android would be ok?

3. What size screen/resolution do you want?
The best one is a larger screen of around 10 inches, it would be better and you can feel the higher resolution means there is more you can do with it. Of course larger screen means you lose out on other features for the same price and portability is reduced.

Replacing the HTC HD7 SD card for more storage

You can safely replace the internal microSD card in the HD7 to increase storage space (up to 32GB cards) and maybe even performance.

Warning: This mod will void your HTC HD7 warranty!

What you need:

  • One or two plastic opening tools, you can use this.
  • A T5 Torx screwdriver

One of the following microSD cards:

  • Sandisk Class 4 8GB microSD – SDSDQ-008G-J35A (used in 8GB version)
  • Sandisk Class 4 16GB microSD – SDSDQ-016G-J35A (used in 16GB version, tested)
  • Sandisk Class 2 32GB microSD – SDSDQM-032G-B35 (tested)

First you need to disconnect all cables and turn off your phone by pressing and holding the power button, now remove the top back cover, the battery and your SIM card. The red dots on the bottom back panel with the metal strip indicate two hinges which face towards the bottom of the phone. You need to use the plastic opening tools in the green marked areas in the image linked above and thrust the bottom cover towards the battery area to remove it without damaging it. Now if that’s done, get your screwdriver ready and unscrew all the screws marked with the yellow/green circles. One of them has a tiny warranty sticker on it. If you removed all the screws and put them in a safe place, lift up the cover, you can do that using the kickstand, don’t worry, even though you removed two screws there, it’s not loose.

It’s time to say good bye to the beta versions of Nokia ovi suite as Nokia has launched the final version of Ovi Suite v3.0.0.248. Nokia Ovi suite final version is now ready to download for the Nokia users. The suite can be upgraded right from the Ovi suite updater. The final version comes with lots of new graphics and features which makes it easier and faster than ever. The home screen has got a lot of animations and graphics to attract its users.

Nokia Ovi Suite v3.0.0.248 appeared on the very new year 2011 leaving back all the beta versions with the old year 2010. The suite size is 74Mb which can be upgraded with just a single click on the software updater which is present on the toolbar of the old beta Nokia Ovi suite. The update is easy and will take time depending on the speed of your Internet connection.

The suite was running in the beta version for few months and the Nokia guys seem to have done a great job this time by releasing a long list of new features like faster and smoother transfer rates. There are many other developments in this versions which will list out at the end.
