NEC releasing a 6.7mm thin phone in Japan
|
NEC are going to release a new smartphone on the Japanase market and even though it’s specifications aren’t particularly impressive (we’ll come back to them in a second) , the device has an incredible body – at only 6.7mm thickness, it’s without a doubt one of the slimmest smartphones out there. The MEDIAS ES N-05D (the name isn’t really as sexy as the device itself) is going to become available at NTT DoCoMo, a local network operator in the next month or two.
The NEC MEDIAS ES N-05D has an 4.3″ HD display and a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 processor, clocked at 1.5gHz, which coupled with the 1GB of RAM and the 8MP Exmor R camera makes is pretty competitive hardware-wise. Of course, the device also has a TV tuner and an Infrared port, standard features for any Japanese smartphone. And here comes the best part – NEC are thinking of selling the device outside of Asia, which means for once, people worldwide may be able to buy a cutting-edge Japanese smartphone. B. A.
