In an interview during the Le Web conference, Eric Schmidt shared some of Google’s plans for the development of their services in the near future. According to the current executive chairman of Google, Google TV is going to be installed on most new TVs by the middle of 2012. In order to achieve this, the company is going to follow the same strategy as they did for Android – the platform is going to be completely free, with users only paying for the TVs.

Google’s target is quite ambitious, considering Google TV isn’t exactly popular nowadays. You can expect to see some of the TVs running the platform at CES 2012, which is going to be held in a couple of months. Considering Samsung’s and LG’s solid partnerships with Google, they’re probably going to release Google TVs first. B. A.
