Google have stated, that they have filed a complaint to the European Commission, in which they’re accusing Microsoft and Nokia in a conspiracy for using their joined patents against their competitors on the mobile market. According to Google, the two companies have transferred 1200 of their patents to the MOSAID organisation, which the internet giant claims to be a patent troll – the definition of a company, which collects patents just in order to use them aggressively in the court. This leads to higher prices of the smartphones for the customers of Nokia and Microsoft’s competitors, which is, of course, bad for everyone, but these two companies.

The FOSSpatents website on the other hand has said, that this complaint has already been denied 3 times from the American organisation ITC. Microsoft have also made a comment on the accusation, rendering it a desperate move from the company, which, as Microsoft reminds us, controls over 95% of the mobile search and advertisement market.
