The software company Madfinger Games, which we know from their impressive mobile games, such as Samurai II Vengeance, has recently announced in their blog, that they’re making their latest game free for Android device, because of the high piracy rate. We’re talking about Dead Trigger – a game, which up until recently cost just $0,99 – a great price for such a game. Still, the company has said, that despite the symbolic price most gamers decided to download their game for free from the (often dangerous) alternative places. That’s why the company has decided to make their game free without even adding ads, like most companies usually do, so that users won’t be tempted to download the game from untrusted sources and threaten their own devices.
We can only applaud them for this decision, though it’s quite sad, that the people who worked hard on this game will receive next to no profit from it. Of course, the users, who just bought the game before it became free are also quite angry, but what can they do? The only ones to blame are the pirates themselves, but than again most of us have downloaded something from a pirate website at least once in our lives, so we can’t really judge. B. A.
