Lenovo with two new devices
|
Lenovo have prepared well for this year’s CES – not only are they releasingtheir new laptops, but they also have two new Android devices to show off – a tablet, the IdeaPad S2 10 and a smartphone – the Lenovo S2. The S2 is more of a mid-range phone with its single-core processor, clocked at 1.4 gHz, 8MP camera and 3.8″ screen. There are two versions available – a 512MB of RAM combined with 8GB of built-in memory and a 1GB of RAM – 16GB built-in memory one. The device is aimed at businessmen and therefore has an additional security system.
The IdeaPad S2 on the other hand is Lenovo’s idea of a “transformer” tablet and hardware-wise is about as powerful as ASUS’ second generation Transformer. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the S2 is its processor – it’s just a dual-core one clocked at 1.5gHZ, but that’s hardly a bad thing as it’s Qualcomm’s most recent dual-core processor – the S4 Krait, which uses 28nm technology – which means it’s not only powerful, but it’s also very efficient – it uses up to 60% less energy than the last generation of dual-core processors.
The other specs include 1GB of RAM, an IPS 10″ display with a 1280×800 resolution and two cameras – a 1.3MP and a 5MP one. The tablet also has a very long battery life, when connected to the keyboard dock – up to 20 hours. Both devices are already being sold in China, so we’re expecting them to hit the European and American markets soon. B. A.
