Windows Phone and Nokia at CES 2012
|
There’s less than a month until CES 2012 and we’re very excited about it. In fact, we’re also excited about the day before the start of CES – on 09.01 Nokia is going to have a special conference, dedicated to Windows Phone and of course, where we’re expecting to learn a thing or two about both Nokia’s future devices and Microsoft’s platform. According to a supposedly trusted source, Tango – the next version of Windows Phone, is going to debut on 13.01 and it may even be shown running on a couple of new Nokia devices – the Lumia 719 and the Lumia 900.
According to the rumors, Windows Phone Tango is going to add LTE support and will also run on low-resolution devices, which means maybe we should expect low-end smartphones running the platform. The update is going to be available for the current devices in a couple of months after its release. Rumors also suggest, that the version after Tango is going to be called Apollo and is going to arrive in the Summer of 2012.
Windows Phone Apollo is going to bring even more stuff to Windows Phone devices, such as support for dual-core processors, higher-resolution screens, NFC, changes in the UI and most importantly, Windows 8 integration. This update, along with the long-expected successor of the N8 and Nokia’s first Windows 8 tablet, is expected to be shown at the Nokia Connection event in June next year. B. A.
