Windows Phone 7 for HTC HD2 is coming soon
|Here is the latest update from Cotulla’s Twitter (the developer who’s porting WP7 to HTC HD2):
“We (DFT team) at the end able to run WP7 on our LEOs, most of stuffs are really working: GSM,GPRS,Camera,GSensor,USB,SD,BT,WLAN,etc.”
“But new “Windows Phone Genuine” doesn’t allow to use any Windows Live services π So it’s mostly “Demo” of WP7. No bypass ways are known”
“As well as MAGLDR development (used by Android & WP7) a bit delayed, because some problems takes more time.”
Looks like it will be coming soon, but since it can’t bypass the “Genuine” check, the OS is pretty “useless”. But, if we can still use WiFi and surf the internet and do everything without using LIVE services will be great.
Stay tuned, WP7 ROM for HTC HD2 is coming!

HTC would have to license WP7 from Microsoft for the HD2, as well, and Microsoft is free to simply say no.
Microsoft is not backing down on their requirements, buttons or otherwise. Doing so just creates precedent for other carriers to barrage them with requests to load the OS on other devices that don’t meet the chasis requirements, but have the specs to run the system. They don’t want to go there.
You know, (for me at least), I don’t really think it matters having the live services or not… I have my own servers for all of my important stuff, and if we can get this to load like some Android versions, on top of WM, then its perfectly fine as a show piece for now, and eventually just being able to load apps will be the greatest victory IMHO.
