Windows Mobile 7 devices to sport 1.3GHz processors

We’re eagerly awaiting the first Windows Mobile devices to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform, which boosts CPU clock speeds of 1GHz, plus some other sweet technology. This should allow for improved video performance and an overall more snappy experience.

The Toshiba TG01, due out later this year, is specifically based on the QSD8250 variant of the Snapdragon platform. The successor to that, dubbed the QSD80650A, will bring clock speeds of 1.3GHz with 30% less power consumption thanks to a 45nm manufacturing process. It also supports resolution up to 1200×800, plus some hefty 2D and 3D acceleration.
