The next iPhone to have a 4″ display with a 1136 x 640 resolution
|
It’s already all but certain, that the next generation of the iPhone is going to feature a different design and will most likely have a bigger screen, but opinions about its supposed resolution are quite variable. According to the 9to5 Mac website, the American company is already testing the new device and it’s currently in a pre EVT (Engineering Verification Test) state. The piece of information goes on claiming, that there are two modification of the device, which are currently being tested – the code named iPhone 5,1 and iPhone 5,2, both of which are said to have 3.95″ screens and a 1136 x 640 resolution, which makes for an aspect ratio of almost 16:9. This is quite interesting, considering the fact, that so far Apple have been using 3:2 displays in their smartphones. According to the information, the new version of iOS is going to also add an additional row of icons on the main screen.
Another rumors has given us interesting information about the device’s connector – its size is said to have been decreased to a point, at which it’s somewhere between a miniUSB and a microUSB connector. This is actually a very serious change, because of the millions of devices on the market, which support only the current Apple-connector, which are going to require an adapter to be used with the possible new one.
