The first tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
|This year’s Google phone – the Galaxy Nexus, is the first smartphone running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but still there is no tablet with this platform. The first one is probably going to be the Novo7 – manufactured by an unknown Chinese company.
There are other interesting things to know about the device as well – for instance, it’s powered by a Ingenic JZ4770, which is based on MIPS architecture, which means the tablet is both powerful enough to play 1080p HD videos and support OpenGL 3D and in the same time is very energy efficient – it uses just 250mW, when it’s pushed to its limits, even though the processor is actually manufactured by 65 nm technology.
The creators of the Novo7 promise 8 hours of video playback on the 7″ tablet. All of this sounds great and I’m sure a lot of you are wondering how much this tablet costs. This is the best part – it’s sold for just $99, which in my opinion makes it the bargain of the year. B. A.
