Swype hoping to come to Windows Phone with the help of Nokia

The Swype virtual keyboard is a great way to quickly input text and is already released for a lot of platforms – Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile and Windows 7. The app comes pre-installed on a lot of devices running Android. The company behind Swype just received $2.5 million from it’s investors, which according to the lead-developer are needed in order to port the innovative keyboard to other platforms – like Windows Phone 7. This may happen with a bit of help from Nokia, as the Finns are one of the biggest investors (another one is Samsung). Swype are also hoping to port their application to iOS, but that’s not easy to do, because of Apple’s strict control over the platform. B.A.
