According to the Korea Economic Daily, Samsung is aiming to increase their mobile phone sales by 15% in 2012, which will get them even closer to the desired first place, held currently by Nokia.
The Korean company is planning on achieving this by increasing mainly their smartphone sales, which shouldn’t be too hard – after all, Samsung is currently the number one smartphone maker, thanks to the success of some of their high-end devices, such as the Galaxy S and its successor – the Galaxy SII. The company’s overall expectations are to sell 374 million mobile phones in 2012, 150 million of which – smartphones.
Meanwhile, Nokia’s sales are expected to decrease to about 399 million, according to Strategy Analytics. B. A.
