LG Optimus 7
The LG Optimus 7 is an excellent cellphone that runs on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7. The phone’s 3.8 inch color touchscreen allows you to get the most out of using this phone. Its camera is capable of capturing five megapixel still images and 720p HD videos. The battery life for this phone is pretty good. It can last for seven days on standby or provide eight hours of talk time. This phone also has several features which make it quite special. Those features are Play To, Voice to Text and Scan Search.
One of the biggest problems with most phones is trying to share any type of content. Although all cellphones are wireless, the majority of them simply won’t communicate properly with other devices. While sharing a single file seems like it would be simple enough to do, attempting to do this with many phones will result in you giving up before ever completing the task. What makes the Optimus 7 different is it has implemented a way to share content that actually is simple. This LG phone allows you quickly send music, pictures and video to nearby devices. This type of content can be sent to any DLNA-capable device. This means that you can wirelessly send content from your phone to your computer, TV or XBox 360. The reason this feature is so easy to use is because you simply choose what you want to send and where you want to send it. With a few taps on the touchscreen, you can send content where you want it to go.
The next feature that make this a great phone is Voice to Text. The touchscreen of this phone makes it fairly easy to type text messages or short emails. However, there may be times when you need to use your phone to type a longer document as quickly as possible. The Optimus 7 allows you to do this by using its Voice to Text feature. With the help of this feature, you can quickly dictate what you want to say. Even if you don’t need to create a long document, this feature can come in quite handy when you’re in a situation where you need to get something down but can’t use your hands.
The other top feature of the LG Optimus 7 is Scan Search. Searching may not sound like a feature that would be very exciting. However, the Optimus 7 makes this commonly routine task quite extraordinary. The reason that Scan Search is so special is because it provides an augmented reality experience. This is done by taking advantage of the phone’s built-in camera. With Scan Search, you can quickly get information about wherever you are. Because this information is coming to you in real-time, you will find it to be quite useful. Whether you are looking for a place to eat or somewhere to shop, you’ll be able to use this feature to quickly find the best option that’s available to you.
Just got this phone a day ago and I like it a lot. I initally hesitated to buy it, with HTC Desire having a lower price here. After playing with both a bit, I realised that the user experience this phone provides suits me better than that of the Desire.
Almost everything related to is is just stunning: from the smooth fonts, the stylish colors of the UI to the details in the Office / People hub. The keyboard is amazing. I was able to type really fast on it even though I’m not skilled at all with typing on touchscreens. I had an iPhone 3G before that. It looks and feels great. Build quality is very impressive and WP7 is very smooth! I highly recommend it.
The only drawbacks I’ve noticed are:
– you can’t remove Windows Live contacts from your people hub
– No smart dialing
There will be a huge Windows Phone 7 update soon, so all problems will be fixed π
