Even though Amazon may be discussing a new patent agreement with Microsoft, which also covers the Kindle Fire tablet, another company has directly filed a lawsuit against Amazon. Of course, once again it’s for patent infringement. A company called Acacia Research is expecting to receive a compensation from Amazon, claiming they have violated a patent for a touchscreen-technology, which makes the screen react when the user is writing on it.

Acacia Research have also claimed rights over a patent for storing multiple calendars on the same device. Both of these are used in almost every smartphone and tablet on the market today, so the company is most likely one of the so called “patent trolls” and won’t be taken seriously. B. A.
