HTC will have to change their devices’ software due to infringement of Apple patents
|As most of you probably know, some of HTC’s devices were banned from the USA, because they violated Apple’s patents. The patent in question is about recognition of information in different types of text documents and its connection with other apps. The prohibition should come into force in April 2012. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Taiwanese company has been working on this issue for months and are ready with an update, which is going to solve the issue. According to HTC’s CEO, there is a way to avoid the ban, with just a few software changes, so end users probably won’t be affected. It’s interesting to see what those changes might be, though and how they’re going to affect HTC’s devices. B. A.
