Google is going to buy Motorola Mobility
|Motorola have just announced they’re going to become Google’s property for the price of $12.5 billion. The internet giant is going to pay $40 per stock, which is a 63% increase compared to the companies stocks on August 12. The deal has already been approved by the boards of directors of both companies, so the deal should be sealed by the end of this year or the beginning of the next. Motorola is going to continue working as a stand-alone company, so the main reason for the purchase is the fact that Google’s going to be able to use their (big) patent portfolio. This may also mean, Motorola aren’t going to be making Windows Phone devices, which was implied recently. B.A.
