Google celebrates 10 billion downloads from the Market

Google have decided to mark the 10 billionth download from their Market with an interesting promotion – every day for 10 days, there are going to be different applications, which normally costs $0,99 – $6,99 for just $0,10. Google have a good reason to celebrate – the application downloads are getting higher with every day.The last 4 billion of all 10 billion downloads were made in just 6 months. Google have announced that a billion downloads are recorded every month, while it took nearly 2 years (20 months to be exact) for the first billion and 5 months for the second. Some of the reasons for this amazing achievement are the large number of Android phones activated daily and the new and improved design of the Market. The first set of 10 cent apps are going to be Soundhound, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline HD, Minecraft Pocket Edition, SwiftKey X Keyboard, Fieldrunners HD, Great Little War Game, Color & Draw for kids:phone, Paper Camera and SketchBook Mobile.
