Apple still looking into 3D technologies
|
It seems, that Apple doesn’t really consider 3D cameras and screens on mobile devices such a bad thing, at least judging by the available job positions at the company. At their website, Apple have posted, that they’re currently looking for a specialist on working with cameras and surfaces in a 3D environment. The job description actually makes us think, that they’re looking into the possibility of releasing a Kinect-like device, which uses cameras in order to determine a person’s or object’s position and his (its) distance from the device itself. Than again, one can never be sure what Apple’s intentions are exactly. The company is also known for frequently working on side projects, which don’t end up in actual mass-market devices. We should also remind you, that a while back Apple registered a patent for an innovative 3D interface, despite the fact, that its supposed to be used with holographic display – a technology, which is currently available for mobile devices.
