Almost 16% of all Android devices are running Ice Cream Sandwich
|One of the biggest problems with Google’s mobile OS – Android, remains its fragmentation and, according to the latest data concerning the platform’s usage, there hasn’t really been a lot of progress with the solution of this problem up until now. According to the statistics, about the devices, which accessed the Google Play Store in the last two weeks, currently 15,9% of all Android devices are running version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich of the OS, which although a lot more than their number a couple of months ago, is still quite low.
Still,at least we’ve seen a lot of manufacturers releasing updates for their devices in the past couple of weeks – such as HTC, Samsung, LG and Sony, which means that with time ICS’s share will continue to grow, though slower than we would like. In the meantime, the latest version of Google’s mobile platform – 4.1, is only running on about 0,8% of the Android devices. B. A.
