A second Indian ultra-cheap tablet: the Ubislate 7
|
About a week ago, the first government-sponsored tablet in India – the Aakash, was released online and it was sold out in a matter of days. Still, its manufacturer DataWind is already preparing to release a followup tablet, called the Ubislate 7. The device is actually up for pre-order and is quite powerful in comparison to the Aakash.
It features a Cortext A8 processor clocked at 700 mHz (compered to the Arm 11, clocked at 366 mHz in the older tablet), better battery life (the battery has grown from 2100 mAh to 3200 mAh) and GRPS connectivity. The device is also running a newer version of Android – 2.3 to be exact. Of course, to a lot of you those specs probably sound pathetic, but keep in mind, that we’re talking about a $57 device. The Ubislate 7 will be available in India next month. B. A.
