Windows Mobile 6.5 release date confirmed

Although Microsoft had previously announced Windows Mobile 6.5 and given us a peak at some of the new features and the revised Zune-like user interface for the Today screen, a release date wasn’t announced. Now, Engadget has confirmation for the release date. It looks like the official release will be May 11, less than a short month away.

With Windows Mobile 6.5 coming, we know that the Diamond2 will be getting an upgrade. Hopefully, the upgrade will be available sooner than later. It will probably take some time for manufacturers to release a ROM upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM upgrades aren’t expected until this Fall, however new devices may start shipping with the new operating system sooner.
