The competition between SoC makers is going to be very fierce this year and Qualcomm surely are well prepared for it with their new S4 line. Based on a Krait processor, the SoC is proving to be very powerful, according to the benchmarks. The results show, that a dual-core S4 processor, clocked at 1.4 gHz has managed to double the second highest score on Linpack and the results are pretty much the same in SunSpider and BrowserMark. As impressive as this may be, we can’t wait for the quad-core  Snapdragon S4 processor to come out to really show us how powerful a mobile processor can be.

Meanwhile, a representative of Qualcomm has said in a recent interview, that we’re going to see a number of devices, using the dual-core MSM8960 chip at the Mobile World Congress, but sadly none using the quad-core processor – it will only be shown, featured in concept devices. B. A.
