Sony Xperimentations in Slowmotion Videos with Sony Xperia Z
Sony Xperia Z and ZL are very similar devices, the main differences is the more compact form factor of the Xperia ZL and the fact that the Sony Xperia Z is water and dust resistant. Sony Mobile France has released a series of “Xperimentations videos” in slow motion that will show you the Xperia Z dipped in ink, water and dust/diamonds, and apparently it’s still working perfectly after that.

Sony’s next top model to bare the name “Xperia XT”
As we recently found out, the official name of the device known as Sony LT30 Mint is going to be Xperia T, though as some of you may have realized, the Japanese company are working on another high-end smartphone – a phone, which we have head of as LT29 Hayabusa, though its official name is more likely to be Xperia TX, which may actually turn out to be their top phone for the second part of 2012. We’re expecting it to be officially revealed on 29.08 – just before the IFA, along with its brother – the Xperia T.
According to the information, which has leaked thus far, the Sony Xperia TX is going to feature a 4.6″ display with a 720p HD resolution, resulting in an overall pixel density of 319 ppi. We also expect its processor to be a dual-core Snapdragon S4 MSM8960, running at 1,5 gHz and combined with it – 1GB of RAM memory. The camera is also going to be quite impressive – a 13MP one, which is very likely to use a new type of sensor. Overall, it’s certainly going to be a tempting device to buy, despite the older Android version, which it’s going to be running – just 4.0.4. B. A.

Details on Sony’s new Xperia tablet
The fast, that Sony is currently working on a new tablet – the successor of their Tablet S, isn’t really a secret and we even knew some interesting facts about it – a leaked benchmark result had told us, that it’s running Tegra 3 and a record on the FCC website, it’s going to have an aluminum body. Now though, a lot more information has leaked online about the device, which is going to be sold as part of the Xperia line. The body of the gadget is going to remain with the same round shape, but this time it’s going to be both lighter and 42% thinner, while at the same time being covered with a special layer for protection from water drops. The tablet is also going to keep its function to work as an infrared remote control and this time there is yet another added feature – called “Macro”, which will let it execute more than one IR commands at a time.
The rest of the specifications include a 9,4″ display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, two cameras (a front-facing 1MP and an 8MP rear-facing one) and a 6000 mAh battery, which is said to be enough for up to 10 hours of battery life. Sony has also added some interesting little features – both in the device’s software and the accessories, which are going to be available for it, such as a “guest” account, which is going to let other family members and friends use your device without being able to see you own stuff and cases with integrated keyboards, which also act as stands. We’re expecting the Xperia tablet to hit the market in September with prices going from $450 for the 16GB version up to $650 for the 64GB one. B. A.

The 2011 Xperia line probably won’t get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
It seems, that Sony Ericsson’s last year’s Xperia smartphones aren’t going to receive an (official) update to the latest version of Android – 4.1 Jelly bean. This was made clear from the words of Sony’s product manager for England – John Cooper, who has has it as an answer to people’s questions towards Sony, which were posted on the company’s Facebook page.
To be more specific, what he said was, that the Mini Pro and Arc S will remain with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but knowing, that the Arc S was Sony Ericsson’s most powerful smartphone for last year (with its 1,4gHz single-core processor) , we think it would be safe to say, that none of their 2011 models are going to receive the update officially. On the other hand, the company’s Xperia line up from this year is most likely going to receive the update, though it still hasn’t been made clear when exactly that’s going to happen. B. A.
