97% of all smartphones will have touchscreens in 2016

According to a recent research by ABI Research in 2016 97% of the smartphones are going to use touchscreens (so that’s a no on the holographic screens in the next 5 years). The agency claims touchscreens are the main reason smartphones and 3G services became so popular in the last few years. In 2007, before the first iPhone was released only 7% of the smartphones used touchscreens and the number has been growing ever since – it was 75% for 2010.

We should also point out that back in 2007 most of the touchscreens used in smartphones were resistive and now they’re capacitive. This means today’s screens support multi-touch and don’t require pressing,but rather just a touch. B.A.

HTC Sensation with another problem

As we know the new top model of HTC – HTC Sensation has a problem similar to this on iPhone – loss of range. But now, numerous reports at xda-developers shows that the smartphone has some problems with the touchscreen. After some days with normal work, the phone starts to lose its screen sensitivity. The users have to press several times on the same keys and unlocking the device becomes a serious problem. Andy Pad – cheap Android tablets

The English company Andy Pad prepares two tablets supposed to a people who don’t want to give a lot of money for a tablet, but want to try Android OS. We are expecting two tablets from the company – the first will be with 8GB memory and resistive touchscreen display and the second, will have a 16GB of memory and capacitive screen. Also, the price of the first model may be 200 US dollars and the second model will cost 270 US dollars. At the moment, we have limited information about the hardware specifications and we know that it will have a 7” screen, Wi-fi, HDMI port and will work with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). From the company promised a powerful GPU and Cortex A8 processor which works on 1.2GHZ. According to the site of Andy Pad, we have to wait 60 days  until launch of the new devices.

Sharp Aquos Hybrid 007SH – the first clamshell Android phone

Android platform is still gaining fans in Japan and then here comes the news of the world’s first clamshell phone with Google’s mobile OS, the device is Sharp Aquos Hybrid 007SH and follows the classic design of keitai phones. Although it has a hardware keyboard, a 3.4 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels, which can be rotated and also has 3D capabilities. His other technical characteristics are quite recent – the second generation Snapdragon processor @ 1GHz, 16MP main camera, front camera and 1Seg mobile TV tuner, which also can be viewed in 3D, there is also and a waterproof housing. Wireless options include downloading to 3G data speeds up to 14.4Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 3.0 . There is an HDMI connection for all Sharp TV’s from the Aquos series. Sharp Aquos Hybrid 007SH will be sold by mid-June in Japan, but Sharp has plans to offer it to other markets also.

Magix W3 – phone and tablet with Windows 7

It ‘s a phone? No, maybe it’s a tablet? Nope, its the Magix W3. This little device is a hybrid between “microcomputer” and mobile phone, and that’s not all – its powered by Windows 7.

The Magix W3 has a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 CPU,4.8-inch touchscreen with resolution of 800×480 pixels, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage memory and a quad-HSPA phone module . There are, of course WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 1.3-megapixel webcam, the battery is 3200mAh (really big!).

If you think it’s over, it’s not – Magix W3 is able to turn on when receives a call or text message and can be connected to TV and audio systems. The price and the official release date are not confirmed yet.

Motorola Pro hands-on preview

Yesterday was the official announcement of the Motorola Pro, a new smartphone which is basically the European version of the Motorola Droid Pro with the same specifications except for compatibility with HSPA networks. This is a phone dedicated to business users, with a full QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen in a candybar design.

As you can see from the video, this phone is designed for business use, with features such as Exchange ActiveSync, you can remotely erase all memory, support for complex passwords, integrated VPN, integrated Office suite and more.

Of course, you can use it for messages or stay connected on the social networks even though you probably do not use all features.

WordPress with 1 million mobile subscribers, launches application for Symbian

The company, which develops software, announced that the total number of users of its mobile applications has exceeded 1 million. Along with the announcement was submitted and application for most popular mobile platform – Symbian. It is available for download from Ovi Store and enables full mobile blogging with the option to post pictures and video directly from your phone. Other features include the ability to edit posts and pages, manage comments and consideration of statistics of visits to your blog. In Ovi Store has two versions – one for new smartphones with Symbian ^ 3 (N8-00, C7-00, C6-01) and the other – for other models of the company with a touchscreen as X6-00, C6-00, N97 , 5800 XpressMusic and others.

The features of Samsung Galaxy U
