Transparent Smartphone Prototype
Transparent smartphone – just a dream, or reality? The concept is coming from a company based in Taiwan – Polytron Technologies, and their transparent phone has a two sided multi-touch screen that really looks like its taken out of a science fiction movie, LOL.
The phone is based on a Switchable Glass technology – OLED display that uses molecules of liquid crystals to display images.
As you can see from the video, there is no software running on the transparent phone as the primary purpose of this prototype is to begin hardware integration and to get OEM’s excited about the potential of Polytron’s technology.
And remember, this is still only a prototype – don’t be jelly

New information on the Galaxy Note II
The Galaxy Note II is expected to make its debut in the end of this month – in the beginning of the IFA 2012, but then again there’s always time for some more rumors about the device. This time they’re coming from a publication in the Korea IT Times, which once again confirms, that the phone is going to have a 5,5″ AMOLED screen and also adds some other interesting details. According to the rumor, the phone’s screen panel is going to use a technology known as Unbreakable Plane (UBP). This means, that the panel is going to be using a plastic substrate, which is not only going to make it more resistant and even flexible, but it will also reduce its thickness by 0,4 mm – this will allow for a larger battery. Sadly, the use of this technology alone doesn’t mean that the smartphone itself will be flexible, but it does however mean, that the screen will be a little bit flexible and it will certainly be a lot more damage resistant.

The BLU Vivo 4.3
BLU Products is a company, which describes itself as the “fastest developing smartphone manufacturer in the world” – certainly a big claim, but is it actually true? Even if it it, was sure hadn’t heard of it up until now – actually not really a surprise, as the company has also said, that it’s the leader on the South American market. There are however some very interesting devices in its portfolio, such as the BLU Vivo 4.3 – the first dual-SIM smartphone, which has a Super AMOLED Plus display.
As its name suggests, it does have a 4.3″ display, but that’s not its only enticing feature – the dual-core Cortex A9 processor (MediaTek MT6577, to be exact) is certainly also worth the look and combined with an 8MP camera and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, these feature make for one appealing device. Sadly, the device is most likely not going to come in Europe – so far, sales have only been planned for the USA, South America and Asia, with prices starting at just $250 in the States, where it’s going to become available in September. Fall is a very important season for most smartphone manufacturers – after all this is when they’re going to release the phones, which are going to determine how they’re going to do in the second half of the year and more importantly – how they’re going to do during the holiday season, when most people are going to be looking for a new device to replace their old one. Of course, this also concerns HTC, as one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers, which is why they’re currently working on a new device to be the successor of the One V – the HTC Proto is going to be the company’s mid-end smartphone for the winter season.
Its specifications are actually quite impressive for a “budget device” – they include a 4″ WVGA display, 5MP camera and a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor (a MSM8225, to be exact). Sadly, the phone does have some weak point – the 512MB of RAM memory being the main one, but it tries to compensate with a sleek good-looking design with its thickness of just 9,6mm. So far this is the only information we have on the HTC Proto – sadly, it doesn’t include a release date, but it’s all but sure to arrive this Fall. Of course, we’re also going to expect some interesting smartphones running Windows Phone 8 from the Taiwanese manufacturer, so stay tuned for more information. B. A.

[Unofficial] Detailed information about the Sony Xperia LT30 Mint
The LT29 Hayabusa is expected to be one of the top Sony smartphones, released in the next few months and there have been quite a lot of rumors about it spreading around the web. It seems, though, that the LT29 (which is actually going to be the international version of the Japanese-only Xperia GX) has a bigger brother – the Xperia LT30, code-named Mint. According to the rumors, this device is going to be the Sony’s flagship for this year and it’ll definitely have a premium feel – if this information is correct, it’ll even feature a curved metal back – something we haven’t seen on a Sony or SE smartphone recently.
The rumors go further into the device’s tech specs – it’ll feature a 4,6″ display with a 720p HD resolution, a 13MP camera and 1GB of RAM memory and it’s going to be powered by a Qualcomm S4 dual-core processor – a chip, which has proven to be not only powerful, but also quite energy-efficient. The device’s results from the Quadrant benchmark have also leaked and they’re quite impressive. So are it’s measures - 129 x 68 x 9 mm with a weight of 140 g. We can’t wait for its official debut, which is likely to be made at the IFA 2012, which is going to be held in Berlin at the end of August. B. A.
