So despite Meizu halting production of M8 because of Apple, they’re preparing us a new unbelievable phone – Meizu M9, and it’s running Android! There are going to be two versions of the phone – one is M9 with 960×640 3.5″ display and the other with 1024×640 4″ display. Other specs are probably the same: 1GHz Samsung processor, 512MB of RAM and ROM, 5 MP camera and HDMI out.

But the real shocker is the price – expected price of Meizu M9 is $350! Cheaper than most of Android phones and much much cheaper than the iPhone!

An interesting statistics about the most popular 10 smartphones with Windows Phone 7 in February, courtesy of the company mtiks, which offers software for statistics on the use of mobile applications for iPhone, Android and WP7. Firstly, and obviously the most popular phone is Samsung Focus, but the overall share of HTC devices is much larger because they participate more smartphones in the rankings, LG is the latest in popularity. Of course these statistics rather reflects the popularity of smartphones with WP7 in North America because many countries still offer only Samsung Omnia 7. In Europe, probably the most common brand is HTC.

N64oid – Nintendo 64 emulator for Android

N64oid is the name of the emulator, it costs just over 4 EU and is compatible with Android 2.0 or higher. Through it you can run games at a speed more than reasonable with a lot of sound effects. It will be perfect if you have some high-end device such as a Nexus S, Motorola Milestone, Samsung Galaxy etc.

The emulator allows you to save / load state of a game at any time, but the best thing is another. With applications like Wiimote Controller is completely free and easy to configure, easy to use the gamepad on the Nintendo Wii, if you have one, to check the games on our phone.

This is the first release of N64oid, you can change key mappings, and make small changes to how it copes with framerate drops, but that’s about it. If you have hardware buttons, or a Wiimote, you can disable the virtual gamepad, too. The save-game feature is flawless, however – and the accelerometer control is surprisingly accurate and responsive.

Game support seems to be good, it’s impossible to say if support is universal – but it supports Ocarina of Time, which is one of the most complex Nintendo 64 games, so it probably supports most of the games.

NEC Medias E-04C – the thinnest Android smartphone

Leaked on a Japanese weblog two days just before its official release on the NTT DoCoMo netowrk, the NEC Medias E-04C has one quite impressive feature – it is the thinnest smartphone to date, with just 0.3″ (7.7mm) of waistline.

And it is just days since the thinnest smartphone in the worlds – the Samsung Galaxy S2 – was officially announced, and weeks soon after we previewed the previous thinnest – the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc – so wake us up when we can fold these around styli.

The device is running Android 2.2 Froyo, and still manages to pack in a 4″ display, in addition to an NFC chip for mobile payments and also the like.

Rovio confirms – Angry Birds for Windows Phone 7 and Bada

If you don’t know about Angry Birds (really!?), in short, it’s a little game for mobile phones that in a few months has become one of the best selling mobile games of all time, at the moment it’s available for iOS and Android devices.

As we noted several months ago, Rovio is working on a version of Angry Birds for Windows Phone 7 , but that’s not all. As well as the version for the Microsoft OS, the company is working on an original new 3D version compatible with future devices such as LG Optimus 3D. Finally, some good news for owners of Samsung Bada phones on which Angry Birds seem to run pretty well as you can see from the video produced by Bada Indonesia.

Also in March this year will be started the cartoon directed by 20th Century Fox titled Angry Birds Rio, which will precede the game version of the same name.
