Opera Mini for Bada and Android now available in the Samsung’s Apps Store

At the Samsung Apps store, which provides applications for all Bada and Android devices of the Korean company, you can now find one of the most popular mobile browser today – that’s the Opera Mini of course. The application is freeware and provides quick access to the Internet, reducing the data amount received by the phone via data compression with intermediate servers, and this leads to savings of your mobile Internet traffic.

New version of the Nokia S40 browser

The browser currently used by Nokia’s S4o phones, which was released last year, works a lot like Opera Mini – it uses intermediate servers, which compress the pages before sending them to the user, saving him both time and data usage. The Finns have announced that version 2.0 of the browser is now available at the Nokia Store and it certainly comes with a lot of improvements.

The UI has been renewed and now it’s both lighter and faster. Among the other pages are the browser’s capabilities to compress web-pages by a staggering 90%, a new download manager and also the ability to easily share link on the popular social networks. New versions of Opera Mini and Mobile for Android

Opera have released new versions of their popular browsers for Android:

Opera Mini 6.5 and Opera Mobile 11.5 have today been released for Android devices, and have an exciting new feature which allows you to know exactly how much data you save whilst using them.

The most important feature is the data counter, which shows you how much data you’ve used and how much Opera has saved you. There is a new page added in settings to show you the overall data used or the one used for a certain period.

This function could be really useful for those of you not on an unlimited data plan or traveling abroad, using roaming. Opera Mini for all Brew MP devices

Last week, Opera Software signed an agreement with Qualcomm, according to Opera Mini will be an integral part of the software package for all devices with Qualcomm’s Brew MP. The Brew platform is used by different mobile phone manufacturers, including HTC, which otherwise are currently known to support Android and Windows Phone. Opera Mini is used regularly by more than 90 million users worldwide.

Opera Mini for tablets demoed at MWC

Opera has promised to show us the new version of Opera Mini browser for tablets. Here is the video from the Opera stand at MWC that show us some hands-on preview, the version for iPad works very smooth, while that for Android not so, but still good enough. The interface is well known, but Opera have made some minor changes in the status bar. The settings are moved to the top, then switches between open applications. Opera Mini for iPad still cannot be found in the App Store, but probably it will be available in the coming weeks.

Alcatel One Touch 813 and 890

There is still a number of entry level phones with touchscreen and good features from Alcatel.

In addition to the 900 series we talked about earlier, the French-Chinese manufacturer has in fact made available another large group of phones – the 800 series, with slightly less features, and always characterized by being directed to an entry-level public and careful not to spend too much.

The first is the Alcatel One Touch 813, which is characterized by the making available in a single solution, a touch display and a QWERTY keyboard. Although not a smartphone, the 803 is also equipped with pre-installed application to manage the majority of instant messaging clients and many social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, all while maintaining a relatively low price (probably less than 100 eu ). Not bad specs, with 2.4-inch touch QVGA display, 2mpx camera, EDGE connectivity, Opera Mini pre-installed and a wide range of different colors. There is also and WiFi + the possibility of using two SIM cards simultaneously.

The second one is definitely more powerful – the Alcatel One Touch 890 is a dual SIM smartphone powered by Android Froyo and also has WiFi connectivity. There is also too wide range of colors, QVGA 2.8 inch display (a bit ‘small), GPS, Opera Mini pre-installed and a 2MP camera, the price is set to 149 eu, it may perhaps appear a bit’expensive compared to competitors such as Huawei ideos, also considering that lacks of 3G connectivity.
