Motorola Droid X – video review
Motorola Droid X is running with a Texas Instruments 1GHz OMAP 3630 CPU running on top of Android 2.1, though you can expect an update to Android 2.2 around Q4 of 2010. It has 8GB of built-in storage, plus it comes with a nice 16GB microSD card. If you buy a 32GB microSD card, you’re up to 40GB of space. The capacitive display is a traditional backlit LCD and is 4.3″ and WVGA+ resolution (that’s 854×480), which is the highest that Android can support currently. The Droid X has a ton of wireless radios and components: WiFi, CDMA with EVDO Rev A, Bluetooth, FM Radio, and GPS (assisted). For imaging, the rear camera (which has a dual LED flash) takes stills at 8MP and video at 720p. For video out, there is a microHDMI type D connector, and for syncing and charging, we have microUSB. The battery is 1500mAh, which is the same size of the EVO 4G.

Motorola Charm – officially announced for T-Mobile

Motorola finally confirmed what we’ve been expecting for the last few weeks, a new MOTOBLUR handset is headed for T-Mobile. Officially dubbed the Charm, it is the first device in the United States to come with the new version of MOTOBLUR. Features include a 2.8-inch touch screen, a full QWERTY keyboard, and a BACKTRACK navigation pad on the back of the handset. Much like it does for the Backflip, the pad allows for an unobstructed view of the screen for a better browsing, texting, and gaming experience. Other features found in the phone include Adobe Flash Lite, a 3-megapixel camera, pinch zooming, multi-touch, and corporate email capability.
The Android 2.1-powered Charm is officially due “this summer” which could mean any day now. Unfortunately a price wasn’t announced for the device but we’re hearing both $75 after rebate as well as free for back-to-school promotions.

Orange to offer HTC Touch Pro2 soon in UK

Yes, the Touch Pro2 is technically an old smartphone from early last year. However, the handset never really made it to UK store shelves as it was originally released as a Verizon exclusive in the UK. Unlike the Motorola DROID which was brought over locally in a matter of weeks, the HTC Windows Mobile smartphone was basically forgotten for more than year. Still, it makes for an excellent option for those who find the high end HTC HD2 a tad too excessive.
In terms of features, the Touch Pro2 was pretty much top of the line when it was first announced. But compared to the newer smart phones of today, it makes for a very well rounded mid range business handset.

Nokia N8 hardware video tour
The camera itself can record videos in up to 720p HD at 25 frames per second for a pretty smooth experience. According to Nokia, they are using one of the largest camera sensors, a mechanical shutter, and glass for a crisp, sharp digital imaging experience. In addition to high-end optics for a camera phone, the Nokia N8, like the EVO 4G and rumored new Motorola Droid X and Droid 2 for Verizon Wireless, also has an HDMI port, which Nokia also bundles a mini HDMI to full HDMI cable. In partnership with Dolby, sideloaded and purchased movies from the OVI Store as well as other web content can play back videos (up to 6 hours via the HDMI connector) with 5.1 surround sound for a great theatrical experience.

Here we have a little mod for XPERIA X1 internal speaker, if the built-in one is not loud enough for you - change it with another
some polish modders from sexperia.eu just tested it and the result is – a way better sound. All you need to do is to open the phone, get a soldering iron and new speaker (here we have one from Motorola K1 and Motorola E398).
You can see the difference, a bigger speaker = better sound
Another step to do – free some space for the new speaker, you need to remove some of the plastic.
This is the soldering (with E398 speaker inside).

The device runs MOTOBLUR on top of Android 1.5 and is designed as a slate/tablet form factor for T-Mobile. Specs-wise, it uses a similar processor to the MOTO CLIQ. What’s notable is that Motorola included two back battery covers. There’s a textured rubberized back that feels really good in the hands in classic black as well as a smooth, metallic purple finish for a spunkier day.

In a recent interview with CNET Asia, Motorola’s General Manager for the region has stated that all of the 20-30 smartphones to be released in 2010 will run Android:
“There will be between 20 and 30 smartphones globally and, at this moment, all of them will run Android. Naturally, not all will be available everywhere as it depends on the company’s partnership with the various telco operators in each country. For non-smartphone models, they will run either Brew or the Motorola’s own operating system.”
