Msm7kCpuSpeed – Overclock tool for HTC Touch Pro, Diamond, Touch Pro2, Touch HD and more
After LeoCpuSpeed to overclock the HD2, there is a program for overclocking the MSM7k SoC on the Raphael, with success. The same processor is present on the Diamond, Rhodium and the Topaz, so it should work on all of these devices. You’ve been able to underclock to 57MHz and overclock up to 710MHz, using small 19.2MHz steps. It can clock even further, but it depends on the quality of the processor in your device where the limit for you lies.

Features
- The CPU speed is calculated from the actual clock registers, not via some dll or shady method.
- CPU speed is updated every 250ms
- A small dot blinks on each update so that you can see if your device hangs or not.
- Under- or overclock by moving the slider
Notes on overclocking
1) AT YOUR OWN RISK
2) Only works while connected to AC power
3) The “604MHz” OC frequency is a special one. Only with this frequency set, you can remove AC power without having a lockup. So: after you overclock and want to remove your USB cable, set it to 604MHz first! You’ll see it go back to the default 528MHz a second after you remove the cable. That’s something the device does, not from the app.
4) Overclocking while on battery gives insta-hang.
5) “Apply at boot” is disabled as under- or overclock would hang at boot.
When using TCPMP to benchmark the overclock, be aware that this tool overclocks the CPU, not the GPU.

This was tested on a GSM Phone, CDMA – use at own risk!
- Rom Tested: 2.07.401
- Manila Sense 2.5 (Not compatible with Sense 2.1)
- ATT Stock 6.5 Rom NOT Compatible (Uses Sense 2.1)
- All Hard SPL-ed Phones w/Sense 2.5 should work
- Cannot be uninstalled.
- Manila Must be turned off, or the phone will hang and a hard reset will be required.
- HTC Messaging MUST NOT be running or will not install, Check Task Manager.
- Cab MUST be copied to Root Dir of device, or My Documents on device. Will Not Install from SDCard!
- Install can take up to 4 minutes to install.
- Phone will require restart after install.
- Manila can be turned back on after restart.

Mugen 3200mAh extended battery for Touch Pro2 works in EVO 4G
In case you need an extended battery for your HTC EVO 4G , we can report success with a Mugen 3200mAh unit that was intended for a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2. It cost $70 or 80. Boots up normally and is charging as expected. Of course the back plate does not fit over the fat battery so you need to left that off and replace the jelly case which stretches over the whole thing. Update for HTC HD Mini and Touch Pro2 – SMS stability fix
HTC has released two updates today on their European Support website, both addressing the same issue but on different devices: HTC HD Mini and HTC Touch Pro2. According to the description “this update amends the internal management of SMS functionality, and enhances SMS transmission stability”.

Android Froyo 2.2 beta for HTC Touch Pro2 (HTC Rhodium)
New 2.2 Froyo Beta build ext2 added to the Android Rhodium project, thanks to babijoee from XDA-Developers!
This in NOT an emulator, nor is it a full ROM! Haret.exe closes down Windows core, and boots Linux off of your Storage Card to launch Android. To boot back to Windows Moobile all you need to do is reset your handset!
NOT WORKING IN THIS BUILD:

Android update for HTC Touch Pro2
This is currently the best working version we can get going on the HTC Touch Pro2 (Rhodium). It is far from complete, but every day the XDAndroid Devs have breakthroughs which bring us closer to a full working port. Full data is working (although it shows my ATT as “Cingular” still, and sometimes literally shows my network as “AT&T?”), including Marketplace, Geo-Locations, and all Sync options.
- NEW Mar 08 3D Finally working(ish) Will not show Nexus boot screen, or some other 3D apps that require LOTS of RAM. (Remove cmdline “hw3d.force=1″ from your startup.txt to go back to the old settings and get your splash screen back)
- NEW Mar 08 New system.sqsh from babijoee, includes Home++ (you can still select standard Android Home as default)

Some quick comparison – HTC Touch Pro2 vs. iPhone vs. Nokia N97
Here we have some quick comparison between these three mobile devices (iPhone, NokiaN97 and HTC Touch Pro2) because people are confused about which product from the three products to buy, and what is the suitable product for them and why to buy it and also to know the differences between the three products so in this article we are going to talk about the differences between each mobile and features of each one so let’s start. I searched the internet for information about the whole three products and i got some useful information and i put it right here so everyone knows which product is suitable for him.

One of the three products don’t have a seperate keyboard and this is the iPhone, but there is another type of HTC series is pretty close in the features from the one I have mentioned in here and also it includes a pretty nice and high camera and this type is called Dimond2.
The three products are pretty close from each other in the memory space but if we took the maximum limit for the memory to reach it will be of course the Nokia N97 because it can be raised up to 48GB. When it comes to the colors and screen specifications so Nokia N97 is the best of all , but the actual use points to that HTC Touch Pro2 is the best in screen resolution and Windows Mobile OS, super sensitivity for the touch screen use, and the ability to follow it. For the potential of fixed and mobile imaging the winner is HTC Touch Pro2 without any competitor. iPhone don’t have the radio feature or even the general bluetooth use (you can use the bluetooth feature for the headphones only) and also iPhone can’t send MMS messages.

This may be a testament to the versatility of Windows Mobile devices or to the genius of certain XDA members. It looks like user sebbo90 has figured out how to run Ubuntu on his Touch Pro2 through haret. All you need to do is to unzip the archive to your root of your sd card and start the haret engine.
Think of the possibilities of having a fully fledged linux system on your phone, a mini netbook as such!

HTC Touch Pro2 official ROM update
This is the first official ROM update for the HTC Touch Pro 2, here is what has changed:
1. The Financial Providers Icon (Yahoo!) was placed in the Stock Tab in TouchFLO to clearly indicate where the data originated.
2. The phone now shows the actual amount of RAM (288MB) instead of the amount used in previous models (256MB).
Overall, small changes. Don’t forget to backup everything before performing the ROM update.
