MOTOACTV able to pair with non-Motorola devices after recent update

MOTOACTV – Motorola’s smart GPS/watch/MP3-player/etc. device has finally received a long-awaited software update, making it able to pair with all smartphones, running Android 2.1+ (up until now it was only usable with Motorola’s devices). There are of course other important additions, which improve the device’s functionality quite a bit. For instance, there is also an option to plan your workout on your phone and after that – send it to the MOTOACTV.

The results from the workout are also able to be seen on the phone; incoming calls are displayed and you may even take them; new messages and events from your calendar are also shown on the gadget’s display. In edition to all of these new feature, there is also a special treat for golf-players – there is a special bit of software design especially for them in mind, which is available for download for free, though owners of the 8GB model should hurry up – after 16.04, this application is going to become paid for them (owners of the 16GB MOTOACTV won’t have such a restriction). Navigon for Windows Phone 7.5 Mango

The first application for detailed navigation for Windows Phone 7.5 Mango comes again from NAVIGON, but it’s not free, so it will not be a very good competitor for the upcoming navigation software for WP devices from Nokia.

This version of NAVIGON is designed to work with the latest update of the Microsoft’s mobile platform  – Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. NAVIGON provides detailed voice navigation, and includes an opportunity for visual guidance function with Lane Assistant Pro. MyRouters option uses profile navigation depending on your driving style, also the application includes an ability to navigate for pedestrians, they can use it as minigid.

Among other features is the traffic information in real time, which is provided by traffic4all and is available only to the United States, Canada and some European countries.

The cost of Navigon for Windows Phone 7.5 Mango with map of Europe is currently priced at €59.49 until 15 November, then the standard price will be €84.99. For U.S. customers the standard price will be 49.99 dollars and 29.99 dollars (promotional).

Archos new Android tablets

Archos presented two new tablets which beat all other models with Android Honeycomb by it’s price. Despite the version of Android and low price, Archos not retreat to other models with anything. The devices are named 80 G9 and 101 G9 and differ only by screen size and price.

Archos G9 has 8” display with 1024×768 resolution and the second G10 has 10,1” screen with 1280×800 pixels. Both models are equipped with powerful hardware and software. They are powered by Android 3.1 Honeycomb and have chipsets TI OMAP4 which contains ARM CortexA9 dual-core processor on 1.5GHz. The new tablets also have front camera, Wi-fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, compass and etc. Price is really low for device of this class: 80 G9 will cost only 249 US dollars and 101 G9 – 349 dollars

Huawei X1

Huawei take precedence over other smartphone producers with their gamma of different models on different prices. Now, they announced the new model Huawei X1 also known as U8180 or Gaga. The phone has a 525 MHz processor, 2.8” touch screen display with QVGA resolution, Wi-fi, GPS and it is powered by Android 2.2.

Garmin buys Navigon

Garmin is a famous corporation creating GPS Systems and software. At the beginning of this week, Garmin confirmed that they have bought Navigon. With this purchase, they aim to expand their business of making GPS programs for smartphones. Navigon has popular apps for iPhone and Android like Navigon Mobile Navigator so, that helps Garmin to achieve their goals

Aesir – luxury phone for £37,000

Danish company Aesir offering – the £37,000 ($61,000) AE+Y phone that has no app support, GPS or even email access. It only make calls, texts and lets you customize the ringtone, but costs as much as a car (an expensive one).

HTC EVO 3D – GSM version is coming

While, HTC has not officially announced it, but they will offer a GSM version of HTC EVO 3D, we never doubted for a moment that this will appear on the market. The site of the company already has a page on the device with features to work with GSM networks. Changes in the specifications than the American version are a bit – instead of 4GB of internal memory the phone has only 1GB and 1GB of RAM. Of course – 4.3 3D screen with resolution of 540×960 pixels (qHD), which allows consideration of 3D content without glasses, two 5MP cameras to capture 3D pictures and 720p HD video and Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 chipset with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor + Andreno graphics accelerator 220. There is also a 1.3 MP front camera for video calls.

Connection opportunities are also interesting, besides the standard Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 3.0,  HSDPA 14.4 Mbps and microUSB 2.0 5-pin port, which supports the mobile high-definition video link (MHL). We already wrote about it, but recalled that allows use USB or HDMI connection with a connector. There are also a microSD card slot, compatibility with technology DLNA, FM radio, GPS receiver and SRS audio technology to create virtual surround sound when using headphones. HTC EVO 3D works with Android 2.3, which is combined with the HTC Sense interface. It adds some new features such as touch screen when you lock the phone, which displays different information and new design of the main screen that offers more dynamically updated data. It is not clear when it will be on the market, but will probably be in the summer.
