Motorola Atrix HD

Motorola Atrix HD

Even though the device hasn’t actually had its official premiere yet, information has recently appeared on Motorola’s website about the successor to the Atrix family – the Atrix HD. The smartphone, which we knew as the Motorola Dinara up until recently, looks a lot like the RAZR, especially considering its thin body – just 8.4mm thick, the water resistance and the materials used in the making of the device, such as Kevlar (once again for the back) and Gorilla Glass.

The device’s technical specifications also include a 4.5″ HD display, which uses the Colorboost technology, a dual-core processor running at 1.5 gHz and LTE capabilities, which makes us think it’s going to be initially released as an exclusive device on some US network operator. The Atrix HD also features a pair of cameras – 8MP main one and a 1.3MP front-facing shooter for video calls, as well as 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in memory and a MicroSD slot if you need some space. The battery is kind of a surprise – just 1780 mAh, which isn’t particularly bad, but compared to the RAZR Maxx it’s quite pathetic. Still, the device looks intriguing enough for us to anticipate its release. B. A.

Motorola Atrix – the secret double life as a netbook

January 22nd, 2011 No Comments   Posted in News

Motorola Atrix 4G uses NVIDIA’s latest dual-core Tegra 2 chipset, has 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage for user, a 5MP rear camera with LED flash plus a front-facing VGA camera for video calls, a fingerprint reader for secure unlocking, and a 4-inch display with a resolution of 960×540. The Atrix will be shipped with Android 2.2 instead of the latest version, and it’s not yet clear when it will be getting an upgrade to Gingerbread. Another minor disappointment is that the “4G” in the device’s moniker means HSPA+ rather than LTE.

Windows Phone 7 – smoother than Dual Core Tegra2 Android device

January 12th, 2011 1 Comment   Posted in News, Windows Phone 7 Series

This is a simple test comparing the scrolling speed of both phones and the responsiveness of the pinch zooming. We personally feels the Android OS is a bit slow and it doesn’t seem the upgraded hardware or the 2x cpu fix’s this issue. The photo sizes are relatively similar, the Motorola Atrix has a 5MP and the Windows Phone device a 5MP. Even with the significant spec boost and advantage, Android somehow manages to falter to Windows Phone 7.

Among all these rumors, most of them, were based on the existence or not of the Digital Compass and some claimed that it should have been hidden somewhere, somehow, though others supporting the idea by saying that they own final official Leo’s ROM’s that it does support. U’ll clearly see below, that through the Value Added Applications, the support of CLL.dll library, explains everything by itself, so yes, Digital Compass is there, as tested on my own, but I must say that it was part of my secrecy which now, I can’t keep it any longer.  Along with DC, its the screen chassis to fully support future WM7.
