According to Research2Guidance there are currently over 500,000 applications on the Android Market. Actually this number was reached about a month ago and achieving it was quite hard, because 37% of the applications uploaded to the Market are removed for various reasons. Apple’s App Store on the other hand has 600,000 applications, but only 24% of the uploaded ones are taken down. The Windows Marketplace has 35,000 applications at the moment, which mean’s it’s a lot smaller than the competitors. According to the agency Android-developers are far more productive than iOS ones as their average number of apps uploaded is 6 and iOS ones’ – only 4. B. A.

All of the new LG top models came on the market with Android 2.2 and the company’s promise to update them to at least Gingerbread 2.3. So far, this hasn’t happened, but thanks to The Inquirer we know when the LG Optimus 3D will get the update. According to it, British employees have said the update will arrive this October – not really good news. But there is an upside – the software will include an application with which you can transform 2D apps and games (based on Open GL) into 3D ones. It will work a lot like the picture and video 2D to 3D converter the phone already has. B.A.
