Palm Pre 2 is here

HP decided to reveal details of the new version with webOS  2.0, as it coincided with the announcement of the smartphone Palm Pre 2 information has already appeared online informally. The device will be sold by the end of this week, will debut in the French network operator SFRm from whose database recently leaked the first details on the phone. However, HP promises that Palm Pre 2 will reach to U.S., but it will happen in the coming weeks, whatever that means. It is not clear whether the smartphone will reach other markets. The new Pre 2 is not a surprise appearance as it looks like its predecessors, but the company claims it has a sleek design. The dimensions are the same as those of the Pre Plus, but now has a faster processor with a clock frequency 1GHz. Other features include a 3.1 “screen with 320 x 480 pixels, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11b / g, Bluetooth 2.1 and 5MR camera with flash. Internal memory is 16GB.

Among the new features of WebOS 2.0 is a preliminary version of Adobe Flash 10.1, option to select the preferred contacts, make phone calls through Skype (only for U.S. users) and work with Bluetooth keyboards. Another novelty concerns multitasking – Stacks allow grouping of open applications with a connection between them. Exhibition feature in turn allows the placing of special applications when the phone is placed in the dock – so you can turn into an alarm clock, digital picture frame or calendar. Among the innovations are global demand, updated browser that supports Geolocation, new possibilities of technology Synergy, Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite to work with documents, integration of Google Docs and Dropbox and others. Previous smartphone, Palm will be able to update to version 2.0 of webOS.
