GScroll has three bits of functionality. Swipe scrolling, 3D scrolling, and program launching. The first, swipe scrolling, allows you to swipe your finger up and down on the touch area, so that you can move through icons or scroll down a page, like in PIE. Then, the 3D scrolling will allow you to tilt the device in all directions to move left/right/up/down. Both of these methods of scrolling work generally well, but I wish that the sensitivity could be adjusted. Also, I had problems enabling and disabling the 3D scrolling which can only be done with a light double tap and single tap (respectively) of the center of the D-Pad.
Then, we have the program launching aspect of GScroll, which allows you to assign four programs to the four hardware keys. A light double tap will open the program. Since the Touch Pro and Diamond don’t have many programmable hardware keys out of the box, this is much welcome addition.
Microsoft has released an updated to their Live for Mobile service. First rolled out on the desktop, the service on the mobile phone ties together Microsoft’s disparate Live services such as Live Mail and their photo service. There is also, consistent with the age, a social element, with friend activity also featuring prominently on the home page.
The following services are or will be available shortly
Text messaging
Access Windows Live via SMS. Get mobile alerts and more. A planned feature will be the ability to send SMS commands (update personal message, add people to your network, check calendar etc.) to Windows Live and Windows Live will send you a text message with the result! To get started, sign in and add your mobile.

Spaces - mobile.spaces.live.com

The service is certainly nice, but the integration is far from perfect, with many of the services lacking links back to the Live Home page for example. The service also lacks the visual flair as seem on iPhone and even the Facebook web apps. This by itself will make the Live Mobile services only an adjunct to desktop Live users, rather than a destination in and off itself.
In 2009, Samsung will double the number of models of smart phones it ships and extend touch-screen interfaces from high-end handsets down to mainstream feature phones. It is also reducing the number of its underlying hardware platforms while it expands the set of software running on them.
“Most of our products are still based on our proprietary OS, but next year we have a plan to double our open OS models with a good mix between Microsoft Windows Mobile, Symbian and Linux,” he said. “For the foreseeable future, we will offer all the possible open OS platforms on our models,” Chi said.
Samsung will also offer a variety of OS’s on similar hardware, depending on carrier demand. They also plan to emulate Nokia (and Apple) by offering a wide variety of applications and services to continue to monetize users well after they bought their phone.
Skype 2.5 Beta for Windows Mobile® works on all Smartphones and Pocket PC phones. You can download it directly on to your phone and install it straight away, or you can save it to your PC and transfer it on to your Windows Mobile device. See our easy downloading guide for step-by-step help.
System requirements
Compatible device with either Windows Mobile Professional or Windows Mobile Standard.
You need a minimum 12MB of free storage memory on your device to install Skype or 6MB free if you are installing from a memory card.
Please note that data usage costs apply for using Skype over 3G mobile networks (EDGE, EV-DO and UMTS), so we recommend an unlimited data plan.
WiFi connection or 3G/2G data connection (we cannot guarantee voice quality over 3G/2G. You may also be liable to additional data charges so please check with your operator before using)
Use a headset for the best sound quality on calls.
If you cant wait for 32 GB MicroSD cards to show up some time in 2010, you don’t have to. 510Jungleboy have shows us all the way. Sure it involved hacking a gigantic door into your HTC Touch Pro battery cover, but nothing comes without a price (and battery covers are actually pretty cheap).
The hack uses a SD to Micro SD extender card like found here, and allows one to plug in the rather cheap 32 GB full sized SD cards as found here. As can be seen by this screen shot, the OS is perfectly happy with the increased storage.
Interestingly the SDHC standard tops out at 32 GB, so it seems to go any further we will be needing another standard pretty soon.
HTC Max is supposed to be exclusive to Yota (Russian WiMAX operator (http://www.yota.ru/en/). That means you will never find it anywhere else in the world. And that is a bad thing because the unit comes only in Russian languange. And there is no way you can change the language settings because the language is burnt into the ROM of the device. Thanks a lot Microsoft!
The specs of the device is pretty much a beefed up HTC Diamond. Bigger screen (3.8″), widescreen resolution (640×800), lots of memory (8GB+microSD expansion). Of course, it comes with WiMAX apart from the WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and GSM/EDGE connectivity.
1.Wait for the tap here to customize.
2.Go through the screen alignment
3 skip or set pass word.
4.When it says your done and tap the screen to start WM get ready to reset
5. The absolute second you touch the screen(use your finger and have your stylus ready by the reset hole) hit the stylus reset. (if you see customization start your too late and must start over)(hard reset by holding volumedown and the button in the center of the scroll wheel while pressing the stylus reset)
6. When your device starts TF3d will NOT be in your today Items
7.Go to today settins and disable everything
8.Use file explorer to go to windows and find PT_Manila_Reg .cab and run it
9.Run MSFT_Security.cab
10.run the Opera cab called WM6_PPC_HTC_Opera9_WWE.cab (only WM6_PPC_HT… shows up in File Explorer) or you won’t have the Opera browser.
You now have no bloat and TF3D!
You must also install the opera cab in windows for the internet tab to work.
GSMDome brings news of an amazing new accessory for your Windows Mobile smartphone. Like the old bluetooth GPS receiver which brought GPS capabilities to your smartphone which did not have it, Mobview 1.3 brings digital TV viewing to smartphones which do not have it built-in (the majority these days).
The video data is transmitted over bluetooth, and seems to be of good quality and pretty resistant to interference. See the video below for the device in action, demoed on a HTC Touch Diamond.
The specs are otherwise unchanged, but if you do not want your Diamond to look the same as the 3 million other ones, this would be a compelling choice.
