We’re used to receive a lot of statistics at the end of each year, about all kinds of stuff in the last 12 months. StatCounter, for instance, has announced some interesting information about how popular certain mobile platforms (or their stock browsers, to be exact) are for browsing.

The results however are very intriguing – according to the research, Symbian is the platform of choice for the heavy-surfers. When you think about it, though, it makes a lot of sense – Symbian is also the most common platform and as it turns out, a lot of its users take advantage of its browsing capabilities. The statistics also show, that Android is catching up with iOS, with Google’s platform scoring 22% and Apple’s – just 2% more. B. A.
